Eye gazing is a very powerful way of giving a greater depth to your connection with someone. It is used for a number of experiences, like healing or stimulating a more intimate bond. Besides that, it can be done by yourself too. You will only need a mirror!
Think about how often you try to make a deeper connection with someone you love, or with yourself.
I still remember the first time I tried eye gazing. I was amazed by the things I saw and felt. When trying this method, everything becomes very real; like the images of past lives, opportunities in the future, and the feelings of connection with the other person.
The intention plays a big role when it comes to eye gazing. Before engaging in this activity, you can set a lot of different goals that will carry out a variety of outcomes. So, let’s dive into an explanation of how to proceed in a session of eye gazing. From there, we will discuss the benefits of this practice that you might have.
“When eye contact between two people is initiated and maintained, an invisible energetic circuit is established between the two participants, dissolving the barriers that ordinarily separate them from each other, drawing them ever closer into a shared awareness of union.” – Will Johnson
Many of us may likely believe that this is a practice of new age or spirituality. However, I can guarantee you that anyone can use eye gazing. While the perspectives we might get from a session can differ, each one of us will undoubtedly experience something and possibly benefit from it.
Intention
Before you try this exercise, make sure to determine your intent about the result of this process. Ask yourself what is the thing that you want to achieve from it. Maybe you want to become more comfortable with yourself or someone else, or simply look for something with a great depth like past lives. In addition, you can use this practice to profoundly connect with someone, acknowledge their emotions, clear stress, etc. It is very easy to set your intent, you just need to say to yourself what you want to achieve, and as you start the process, allow that to be. In a situation with a partner, it is important that both of them have the same form of intention.
This can usually be done more effectively with a partner, but it can also be a wonderful experience to do it alone. When starting, make sure to close your eyes first and take your mind to a quieter place for a few seconds. This can be achieved by concentrating on your breathing and letting go of any expectations that you may have about the method.
Gazing Alone
After your mind becomes clear using the method above, you can open your eyes. Look in the mirror and focus on your eyes, try to feel the comfort of gazing into your own eyes. After a short time, you will realize that your surroundings are more blurry and finally your eyes will be the only thing you see. After that, based on the intent you previously put for this exercise, the procedure will differ. Therefore, this is all you need to know about the process because the things that you will see depend on your intention. You can engage in this practice as long as you want, but it will definitely be better if you go longer. After several minutes you might not notice a lot, so you can try things for 5 – 10 minutes at least.
Practice with a Partner
When doing this with a partner, you need to sit across from each other, and get comfortable. After clearing your mind, open your eyes and start looking into your partners’ eyes. Normally, your eyes might want to focus on one eye more. Choose the left or the right eye and let it be. After some time, you will find different shapes and shades shifting when it comes to your perception of the other person. It is important to just let this all be and do not concentrate too much on it.
The things around you are likely to start blurring and the process will continue from there. Remember that it depends on the intent you have set out. It is essential to note that you shouldn’t have any expectations of how the process is going to unfold; the same outcomes might not take place for everyone. Similar to doing this alone, the amount of time you want to gaze is completely up to both of the partners, but the benefits are generally better if held for five minutes or more.
Gazing For a More Intimate Experience
This is usually very suitable for couples or people with a strong relationship. It can be a very intimate moment and it is beneficial for connecting before you get intimate with each other. In the beginning, the intent to connect on a deeper level with your parent is chosen, and from there the procedure is relatively similar to the methods above.
Sit right across your partner and start breathing comfortably. With every breath, let yourself become more relaxed and open to bonding with your partner. When you let the process slowly progress, you will realize that you feel much more united with your partner. Every role you had between you two will fade away. Therefore, a more honest, meaningful connection will be formed. After that, you can let the process go anywhere you want it to go.
In reality, there are different ways of doing this, so there isn’t a wrong or right way. It is up to you – experience these methods as much as you want. The process can very easily happen on its own, you just need to be open to it and get rid of all expectations. Besides, you can do this type of practice with nature too. You may have experienced this naturally as it happened without you noticing.
You start to connect a lot more with a form of life by looking at a flower, tree, or a different perspective of nature; everything else starts to get blurry. Energy waves can also be noticed, coming from the plant or tree, and you might feel strongly connected with it. This is a great meditative and relaxing method to practice.
